Privacy Policy
Starcarver (package com.garoo.starcarver) — published by Garoo Interactive gaming (Garoo Interactive)
Effective date: 31 October 2026
This policy explains how Starcarver ("the App," "we," "us") handles information. Starcarver is a single arcade game. You redirect a satellite between orbits, sweep gem rings, and dodge hazards across hand-built solar systems. You can unlock trail and satellite skins with an in-game currency called Starmarks. The game runs on your device. The App offers one optional rewarded video ad, served by Google AdMob. That ad is the only part of the App that connects to a third party. Versions before 1.1 contain no ads and send nothing to any third party.
1. Information we collect
Garoo Interactive does not collect or receive any information about you. The App has no user accounts, no login, no analytics of our own, and no crash reporting. We have no server that receives data about you or your play. Your progress never reaches us. The only data that leaves your device is what the advertising software in section 3 sends to Google.
2. Data stored on your device
To make the game work, the App saves your progress on your device only, in your device's standard app storage. It is never sent to us. This includes:
- Your Starmarks balance and best scores and star ratings per system
- Which trail and satellite skins you've unlocked and equipped
- Graphics-tier and other display and accessibility settings
You earn Starmarks by playing. The App has no real-money purchases and does not use Google Play's billing system or Apple's in-app purchases.
Your device's built-in backup, if you have it switched on, may copy an app's saved storage to your own account. That means Google's backup on Android, or iCloud or your computer backup on iPhone. You control that setting on your device. We do not receive that copy or have access to it.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
After a run ends, the App may offer a rewarded video ad in exchange for one free extra jump (the same extra jump you can otherwise pay for with Starmarks). It is always your choice. Nothing in the game is locked behind an ad. There are no banner or interstitial ads. The one ad is a full-screen video that plays only after you tap "Free Jump (ad)". Ads come from Google AdMob, through Google's Mobile Ads SDK, which is third-party software included in the App.
When the App asks Google for an ad, Google's software may automatically collect and use the following from your device, for advertising, ad measurement, analytics and fraud prevention:
- Your IP address, which can indicate your approximate location
- Device identifiers, such as app- or device-level identifiers. Because the App asks Google to treat every ad request as child-directed (see below), it asks Google not to use your Android advertising ID or iOS advertising identifier for ads.
- Interactions with the ad, such as ad requests, views and taps, and the ads you have seen
- Diagnostic information, such as app and SDK performance and crash data
This data goes to Google, not to us. Google's own privacy policy applies to it: policies.google.com/privacy, and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. The App does not give Google your game progress, Starmarks or settings.
Your choices about ads.
- Ads for everyone. The App does not ask your age. So for every player, it asks Google to treat each ad request as child-directed and as coming from someone under the age of consent. It also asks Google to show only "General" (all-audience) ad content and to block sensitive ad categories. Ads are not meant to be tailored to your interests or browsing history, and are not meant to use your advertising identifier. Google may still use limited data (such as your IP address and approximate location, and device information) to serve, measure and secure the ad. These are requests we make to Google's software. We cannot guarantee how Google applies them.
- Consent. Because the App treats every player as under the age of consent, Google's consent form is normally not shown. If it is shown, the App does not request ads until you have made that choice.
- iPhone and Android. The App does not show Apple's tracking prompt and does not ask to track you across other companies' apps and websites. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of ad personalisation, in your device's Settings (usually Privacy > Ads). On iPhone you can switch off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Skip ads entirely. Don't tap "Free Jump (ad)." You can play the whole game without ever seeing an ad.
4. Who is responsible, why, and where data goes
Garoo Interactive chooses to include the optional ad and asks Google for it. That is all we do. Google decides how it handles the data its advertising software collects, under Google's own privacy policy and advertising terms. Garoo does not receive that data, cannot see it, and does not control how Google uses it. Google does give us aggregated ad reports (for example, how many ads were shown and what they earned, by country). Those reports do not identify you or your device.
- Why and on what basis. The data in section 3 is collected so Google can deliver, measure and secure the ad. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, where the law requires your consent for this, the App treats every player as under the age of consent. If Google's consent form is shown, the App does not request ads until you have made that choice. If consent is required and not given, no ad request is made. If Google's consent check cannot complete, the App requests ads only on devices whose time zone is clearly outside Europe; devices in Europe, or with an unknown time zone, get no ads until the check works.
- How long. Garoo keeps nothing. Local game data stays on your device until you clear the App's storage or uninstall. Google sets how long it keeps ad data (see its privacy policy).
- Other countries. Google may process ad data in countries other than where you live, including the United States, under Google's own transfer safeguards.
Your rights. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your data protection authority. Garoo holds no data about you, so make requests about ad data to Google, through your Google account tools and its privacy policy. You can also email us and we will point you to the right place. If you live in a US state with a privacy law (for example California), you may have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or of targeted advertising. Garoo does not receive any personal information. The App asks Google for child-directed, non-personalised ads for every player. Browser signals such as Global Privacy Control do not reach a mobile app. The device and in-app controls in section 3 are where you set these choices.
5. Children's privacy
Starcarver is a general-audience game. Anyone can play it. Because the App does not ask your age, it asks Google to treat every ad request as child-directed. That is a protective setting for all players, and it applies whatever your age. Garoo Interactive does not receive personal data from anyone, of any age, and does not knowingly ask a child for any. The only software in the App that collects data from your device is Google's advertising software (section 3), which sends it to Google. The App asks it not to tailor ads to a child's interests or build an advertising profile, and shows no ads other than the one optional rewarded video.
Parents and guardians. You can see, ask us to delete, or refuse further collection of your child's information. We hold none, so there is nothing at Garoo to review or delete. To act on what Google's advertising software collected, use Google's tools and privacy policy (links in section 3). Your child can play the whole game without ever watching an ad, and clearing the App's storage or uninstalling removes everything stored on the device. If you have a concern, contact us using the details in section 8.
6. Your choices and your data
Everything the game stores lives only on your device. Clear the App's storage or uninstall it to erase all local progress. There is no account to delete, and no copy of your progress on any server of ours. For data Google holds through the advertising software, use the ad controls in section 3 and Google's account tools.
7. Changes to this policy
If the App's data practices change, we'll update this page. For example, a future version might add analytics, cloud save, or real-money purchases through Google Play's billing system or Apple's in-app purchases. We will describe any such change here, with a new effective date, before it ships.
